What's the fastest you've driven?

So we all love our car's and I just wondered what's the highest speed some of us have achieved in any of our car's or bike's or whatever (planes & rockets not allowed ).

Now I'm not looking for a debate please on safe driving practice's or any of that malarkey, .....so let's just have the figures and the vehicle too if you like, whether it was on-road or on a test track or whatever.



Now obviously speedometers aren't spot on but according to the speedometer in my old (now deceased) 1996 JDM WRX Impreza my best top speed is 146mph but there was more left in it just not enough track left.

my current car evo fq 162mph on speedo, hairy and scary to say the least

Time trial push bike 62 mph

Tuned R1 - 178 mph

Derestricted SL55AMG - 201.7 mph

Push bike was the scariest by far!!!!! lol

It was under my own steam, but down a very long and steep hill

We derestricted the SL's speed limiter, but it did mean disabling the ABS, TC, and ESP!! lol

155 in my mark 4 Golf R32. I needed to see it would do it. Had 140 ish in the evo's but I tend to take it steadier on the road now.

Love the look and sound of the early R32's, didnt realise they shifted that quick though!!

They do sound great. Another that sounds awsome is the rs4 what a rumble

I loved it. That's the top speed apparently and it wasn't on GPS so maybe not quite right. Tell you what though, I really got it shifting and it hit the 155 mark just before I had to steady up for the roundabout. Few months later went down the same road in my evo 8 and hit 130 so much sooner than in the golf.

Oh definatly after I heard that on top gear I had to get on YouTube and listen to it in surround sound. Sounds like thunder, also the prodrive concept sounds mental

My Avocet cycle computer read a maximum top speed of 59mph when I was 16 riding my Raleigh Mantis mountain bike down a long hill here in Wales on a school bike ride. I almost died doing it as I came to the bottom of the hill which had a cross roads, ...brakes did little at first, then locked up as I panicked (only alittle, I'm cool ) & smoked the rear tyre for probably 50 metres trying to stop Did stop though thank goodness.
